Connecting with my clients is very important to me which is why I am all about sharing my journey and in return allow space for them to share theirs with me. So here is a little about my past, present & future!

My business story.

I started this journey as a child... just myself and an old National Geographic magazine. I fell in love with photography the moment I opened the cover.

Sitting on the cold hardwood floors, flipping through the pages of a world I never thought I'd see in person. From remote communities in Africa to the vast beauty of the Northern Lights, this was love.

A love that continued to grow until 2009 when I was gifted my very first DSLR camera from my Father.

In 2012 I felt confident enough in my work and officially launched my own photography business, Elisabeth Ashliegh Photography. As my love and skill for photography grew, so did my love for sharing it with my community in new and creative ways. And through that love - came a passion to help other small businesses, entrepreneurs, community figures and others succeed in new and creative ways.

Oak & Ivy was born in October 2017.

travel & military service.

I enlisted in the military in 2002 (phew) and spent a very memorable Christmas in basic training at Lackland Air Force Base.

In 2018 I aligned my military career in the Air National Guard with my personal businesses by cross-training from Financial Management to Photojournalism.

In 2019 I graduated with honors from DINFOS Photojournalism School at Fort Meade, Maryland. I still serve in the Ohio Air National Guard today - 20+ years strong.

After photojournalism school I embarked on a journey to Germany, France and Greece with a friend and a photography retreat in Mexico!

Between my husband's military service and my service (plus our love for travel) we have explored over 30 states and over 6 countries together. We have plans to add a few more to our list within the next year.

my family. my heart.

My family is my everything. I have three kind-loving children, a husband who keeps me laughing, a Saint Bernard who loves to nap and snuggle and a cat (who arguably loves me the most).

Starting my businesses was a dream of mine in order to be more present with my children. Ensuring a good work-life-balance is a top priority and I encourage my friends and clients to do the same.

My work.

Social media and content curation is my jam.

Writing, photography, connecting & building relationships is exactly what social media is all about - exactly what I am passionate about. And if I can do what I am passionate about as a career and help my small business friends in the process... that is what I call a big win.

I may not be a Nat Geo Photographer... but I am still living a dream. And I want that for you. So let’s help grow your dream, shall we?
